Orthopaedic Urgent Care Center
There are times when a medical team that specializes in treating muscle and skeletal problems may be quicker than the hospital emergency room, and fully sufficient for managing such injuries as minor sprains and strains, closed fractures, and simple lacerations. For that reason, COA operates an extended-hours service - weekday evenings and on weekends - at our Exeter office.

Sports Medicine
COA has a knowledgeable sports medicine team that includes fellowship-trained sports medicine orthopaedic surgeons, fellowship-trained sports medicine/orthopaedic primary care physicians, sports physical therapists and certified athletic trainers. In fact, our sports medicine program is the largest and most comprehensive in the Tri-County area. COA is also the official sports medicine provider for the Reading Phillies baseball team and the Reading Royals hockey team.

Physical and Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation
Comprehensive physical therapy treatment is an important element in orthopaedic care. Our physical therapy department specializes in rehabilitation and in sports and orthopaedic injuries. We also provide post-operative care and impact sports concussion management. Your doctor may refer you to our physical therapy department.

Imaging Services
COA has the advantages of both MRI and bone density scanning.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Our state-of-the-art MRI allows us to provide a range of clinical requirements. Our Hitachi unit, located at our Exeter office, has an open design that combines field strength and advanced technology for outstanding image quality. MRI scans are useful for the entire body and are very effective in evaluating many conditions. The unit produces high-quality images needed for comprehensive diagnosis. MRI is noninvasive and has no known side effects; it's comfortable and painless. Our MRI is accredited by the American College of Radiology.

Bone Density Scanning
Osteoporosis, a potentially crippling disease characterized by bone loss and susceptibility to fracture, afflicts 50% of Caucasian women past menopause. COA offers a safe, simple and painless test that involves no injections and takes only minutes to complete. It can determine the current status of your bones and your risk of developing osteoporosis. This high-tech scanning unit gives extremely accurate information with minimal exposure to radiation.

X-ray Services
COA offers the convenience of X-ray services at two out of three locations. As a patient, you will receive the finest treatment possible from our trained and licensed staff. Because of some insurance requirements, an additional authorization may be required for X-ray services performed in our office.
